NASA’s Curiosity en route to Mars

An Atlas V rocket lifted off from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on Saturday morning, shuttling NASA’s Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) Curiosity rover on a one-way trip to the red planet. The nuclear-powered vehicle weighs one-ton and is the largest rover sent to Mars – it is packed with instruments that will sample the Martian soil to search for signs of life, past and present.

Regular Show: Rap It Up (featuring Tyler, the Creator, Childish Gambino & MC Lyte)

The latest episode of Cartoon Network’s animated series Regular Show had some great surprises in store as it featured the voices of none other than Tyler, the Creator, Childish Gambino, MC Lyte and supposedly, even KiD CuDi. The cartoon, which follows the lives of two 23-year-old deadbeat friends – a blue jay named ‘Mordecai’ and a raccoon named ‘Rigby’.

Tyler, the Creator Reveals New Album Title

If you’re anti-Tyler, the Creator, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to hear that the Odd Future frontman’s forthcoming album Wolf will be less about raping and murdering and more about “hippie music.” In a recent sit-down with Spin, Tyler spoke about what to expect.

“Talking about rape and cutting bodies up, it just doesn’t interest me anymore… What interests me is making weird hippie music for people to get high to. With Wolf, I’ll brag a little more, talk about money and buying shit. But not like any other rapper, I’ll be a smart-ass about it. Now it’s just girls throwing themselves at me and shit, but I got a girl back home. People who want the first album again, I can’t do that. I was 18, broke as fuck. On my third album, I have money and I’m hanging out with my idols. I can’t rap about the same shit.”

Nice to see that the young buck already realizes that it’s all about progression and moving forward. It will no doubt be interesting to see the outcome of the project.

Nintendo + West Coast Customs Life-Size Mario Karts @ LA Auto Show

To bring part of Mario’s make-believe world to life, Nintendo has partnered with West Coast Customs to create life-size models of Mario’s Standard Kart and Luigi’s Bumble V Kart. While the characters are forced to enjoy their rides in the hazardous Mushroom Kingdom, we checked them out in the (relative) safety of the Los Angeles Convention Center during today’s LA Auto Show. Naturally, the West Coast Customs tie-in means that the karts’ construction will be chronicled in an upcoming episode of the shop’s reality television show.
