Experiment No.1: Skateboard Shades
Experiment No. 1 – Skateboard Shades from Shwood Eyewear on Vimeo.
Love the concept of recycling snapped decks and I really want a pair of these.
Follow Shwood’s own Eric Singer as he meets up with Keith Hufnagel and others to claim the streets of LA in pursuit of Shwood’s latest experiment, sunglasses made from broken skateboard decks. Crafted entirely in Shwood’s local woodshop, this one-of-a-kind pair of sunglasses was created out of curiosity, just to see what was possible. Holman House by Durbach Block Jaggers
A Picasso painting inspired this cliff-top house near Sydney by architects Durbach Block Jaggers. The curved forms of the kitchen and living room, which project over the sea supported by four angled stilts, are derived from the torso of Picasso’s The Bather. The two-storey Holman House was completed atop the 70 metre-high cliff at Dover Heights.

The Cabin hangs from the trees and has a roof terrace overlooking the forest. This project is one of five rooms of the Tree Hotel in Harads, northern Sweden.

Steampunk Artwork
So what is ‘Steampunk’ you ask?
Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction, alternate history, and speculative fiction that came into prominence during the 1980s and early 1990s. Specifically, steampunk involves an era or world where steam power is still widely used—usually the 19th century and often Victorian era Britain—that incorporates prominent elements of either science fiction or fantasy.
The illustrations remind me of the machinery you find in Studio Ghibli movie ie. Howl’s Moving Castle.
