Ken Block unveils new multi-hoonable Ford Fiesta HFHV
Ken Block has got to be one of the most envied people in the world. Not only is he a professional rally racer with Monster World Rally Team, but he’s also a co-founder of DC-Shoes which is one of the most popular brands for skateboard, snowboarding, motorcross…. Pretty much all extreme sports.
His latest project has been the Ford Fiesta HFHV which is a hybrid function (not like a Prius) but is adaptable for use in each of the three types of rally competition: stage rallies, rallycross and Gymkhana.
The car is based on Block’s Ford Fiesta RS WRC, albeit with a 2.0-liter turbo four capable of producing as much as 600 horsepower and 665 pound-feet of torque, depending on configuration. And configurability is what this car’s all about. By swapping the wheels and tires and adjusting everything from the suspension to the engine mapping, the HFHV can be quickly set up for any of these three functions. Believe it or not, Block’s Monster crew says it can even be street-legal, depending on the setup.
The video is very cleverly executed to show you exactly what modifications are made for each race type.

Freeskiing: “Being There” CLIP
BEING THERE – FIELD PRODUCTIONS from Field Productions on Vimeo.
While I’m sweating it out everyday in Hong Kong, it’s snow time in the southern hemisphere! I’m hoping to get to Queenstown, New Zealand sometime in August for a heli-board if I can get away from work for week. I came across this clip for ‘Being There’ and even though I snowboard. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a ski or board video as long as there’s a good soundtrack over the top. It get’s me pumped! This is for all my snow pals in Australia and New Zealand.
“With some of the best skiers within all aspects of modern freeskiing, and a passionate film crew equipped with the best of HD cameras, this movie will both thrill and amaze you. Along side amazing action shots and mind blowing scenery, this movie will give you a behind the scenes look at the production itself.”

‘Paranormal Activity 3’ Trailer
I was surprised when I saw they’re was going to be a third follow up to the footage-style Paranormal Activity movies. This time we return to the year 1988 when Katie and Krista are children to reveal the reason behind the demonic force that was tormenting them. You see the two girls chanting Bloody Mary which might be a clue. I love a good scary movie and I’ll admit the first one made me sh#t my pants, but I’m not holding my breath on this.

Stussy recently released a series of videos featured within the brand’s World Tour back in 2006. This collection of artists are some of the first guys to create the collaborative movement between street art and corporate companies. It’s bitter sweet to hear their stories of how they started out and how ‘mainstream’ has changed the game for good and bad. Worth a watch.
R.I.P. Amy Winehouse (1983-2011)
It’s a sad day to see that Amy Winehouse has died at such a young age of 27. I’ve been a huge fan of her music for years and has always been someone I’d loved to have seen live. I was lucky enough to meet her a few years ago, while staying at the Soho Grand in New York City. It was winter time and we seemed to keep bumping into each other while we were both having a cigarette. She had obviously been fighting some personal demons over the years and unfortunately got the better of her in the end. My prayers go out to you Amy and your family and your music will live on.
The Telegraph –
Miss Winehouse, who came to fame with her debut album Frank in 2003, was found at her flat in north London this afternoon, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed.
They say that they received a call at 4.05pm calling for help for a woman in Camden. Paramedics were called to the scene, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The death is “unexplained” but not thought to be suspicious, according to police. Sources have told the Sunday Mirror that an overdose of drink and drugs is the suspected cause of death.
Last month, Miss Winehouse cancelled her entire European tour, after an on-stage breakdown in Serbia. A statement on her website said “Amy Winehouse is withdrawing from all scheduled performances. Everyone involved wishes to do everything they can to help her return to her best and she will be given as long as it takes for this to happen.”
Friends of the singer had reportedly voiced fears that she was drinking herself to death, according to the Sun. They said: “Her drinking is totally out of control. Amy is constantly out of control on vodka.
In 2007 she married Blake Fielder-Civil, and the pair had a sometimes violent relationship. Fielder-Civil was imprisoned for conspiring to pervert the course of justice in 2008 and the pair divorced in 2009.

PAS House: The Skateable House
This is true meaning of living and breathing skateboarding.
The PAS House, to be built in Malibu, CA, is the ultimate rebuke to the notion that play shouldn’t occur indoors, simply because every surface in the house is skateable. PAS stands for Pierre Andre Senizergues, founder and CEO of Sole Technology, parent company of etnies, Emerica and eS. He came up with the vision for the house and got together with artist Gil Le Bon Delapointe to creat the design — a modern single family home and skate ramp in one — and eventually passed the project on to architect Francois Perrin, who is now finalizing plans on the house. Together they’ve created a skateboarder’s paradise, where everything from the kitchen counter to even the bed can be skated. Currently a full-scale, 753.5-square foot prototype of the house’s living area is on display at La Gaite Lyriqe in Paris. The exhibition will run through August 7th.
