‘Louis Vuitton – Marc Jacobs’ Exhibition – Commented Walktrough

Curator Pamela Golbin takes fashion journalist Louise Roe to the tour of the ‘Louis Vuitton – Marc Jacobs’ exhibition.

Louis Vuitton Marc Jacobs is a story of two personalities and their contributions to the world of fashion : Louis Vuitton, founder of the house of Louis Vuitton in 1854, and Marc Jacobs, its artistic director since 1997. Two innovators , both rooted in their respective centuries, advanced an entire industry. Two creators , each in his own language, appropriated cultural codes and trends in order to shape the history of contemporary fashion.

Colette Carnaval: 1997/2012 (15 Years)

For a whole week-end, Colette celebrated its 15th birthday. Outside its walls, under a gigantic tent of 4 000m2 in the Garden of Tuileries, the shop invited brands and collaborators to run stands and attractions in a festive atmosphere. Food stands, design, beauty, fashion, musical animation, sport and art, a great choice which illustrates the eclecticism of Colette. With a free entrance and for a wide public, the event was a sucess. 2 000 entrance a day, 4 000 for the whole week-end.

Star Wars Identities Portraits

If you’re a regular follower of my blog you’ll not only notice my love of beautiful women but I’m also a huge Star Wars fan. I always cool to see different peoples interpretations of the movie characters. And I must say this is by far! One of the best I’ve seen! I’m blown away by the attention to detail in each image. Darth Vader and the Stormtrooper are my favourites.

The Star Wars Identities exhibit lets fans connect with their favorite characters on a whole new level of amazing. The set shows six major characters from the saga, each portrait made as a collage of smaller images. The exhibit will open in Montreal and Edmonton, Canada.

6Months Film Tralier

‘6MONTHS’ is a look at what can be achieved in a relatively short period of time; it’s a demonstration of what a lot of hard work can result in; it’s a celebration of travel, adventure, mateship and the incredible waves that were on offer during the Winter of 2011.

From early April through until the end of September, Ewan Donnachie chased waves high and low at a frenetic pace, along with good mates Jase Finlay, Damien Martin, Chris James, Nick Gornall and assorted other riders.

It was a testing time; last-minute calls, delays, cancelled flights, lost baggage, injuries, unreliable swell patterns and adverse weather conditions were inevitable components of nearly every mission.
But the boys put their heads down, committed and reaped the reward of unspoiled perfection.

The film provides a rare insight into the lives and mindsets of these free-surfers and the equally dedicated photographers and filmers who document their exploits.
It’s not all fame and fortune; it’s very rarely glamorous. But as each and every one will attest, it’s most certainly worth the effort.

A film by Ewan Donnachie and Lucas Vazquez, ‘6MONTHS’ aims to inspire.
Save your coin, get some mates together, do a little research and hit the road to discover what’s out there waiting for you.

KONY 2012 (PLEASE WATCH THIS)

KONY 2012 from INVISIBLE CHILDREN on Vimeo.

I received a late night Facebook message last night from a mate (Georgie Gee) back in Australia telling me if I hadn’t seen this video. I should watch it and see if it moves me as much as what it did him. I loaded up the video and can honestly say it had such an impact on me that I will be doing everything I can to support this cause. Please watch the video and help raise awareness of the inhumane acts going on in Africa.

KONY 2012 is a film and campaign by Invisible Children that aims to make Joseph Kony famous, not to celebrate him, but to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent for international justice.

Infographic on the deep sea

From the BBC: “Icy cold, pitch black and with crushing pressures — the deepest part of the ocean is one of the most hostile places on the planet. Only two explorers have made the epic journey there: 11km (seven miles) down to the bottom of the Pacific Ocean’s Mariana Trench. As a new wave of explorers is gearing up to repeat this remarkable dive, take a look at the mysterious world that they will be plunging into.”
