Beyonce Breaks iTunes Record for Fastest Selling Album
Having sold over 400k copies within 24 hours of its release, Beyoncé‘s self-titled album has continued to shoot up charts, and just three days after its release Beyoncé has already broken the iTunes record for fastest selling album. With 828,773 copies already sold, the numbers show no signs of slowing down as fans continue to purchase the unannounced 32-track visual album while singles and music videos slowly reach streaming and sharing platforms. Featuring 14 tracks and 17 videos, Beyoncé is available now via iTunes.
Top Interviews at The Breakfast Club Power 105.1
I’m a huge fan of Podcasts to listen to at work. I just stumbled across some great interviews on some of the international radio stations that are worth a listen to the current hip hop music and lifestyle and inspiring words of wisdom from some of the most influential people in the game. There’s plenty more to listen to so subscribe to The Breakfast Club Power 105.1 channel on YouTube for me.
Daft Punk: Behind The Helmets Documentary
The combined talents of DJs Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, the pair’s first projects together included Darling, a voiceless indie cover band; their current recording name derives from a review in U.K. music weekly Melody Maker of a compilation tape Darling were featured on, released by Krautrock revivalists Stereolab (their lo-fi D.I.Y. cover of a Beach Boys song was derided as “daft punk”). Subsequently ditching the almost inevitable creative cul-de-sac of rock for the more appealing rush of the dancefloor, the pair released their debut single, “The New Wave,” in 1993 on the celebrated Soma label. Instantly hailed by the dance music press as the work of a new breed of house innovators, the single was followed by “Da Funk,” the band’s first true hit (the record sold 30,000 copies worldwide and saw thorough rinsings by everyone from Kris Needs to the Chemical Brothers).
Pharrell Presents the World’s First 24-Hour Music Video
Perpetually innovative and consistently creative, Pharrell Williams has recently launched the visuals for his Despicable Me 2 single “Happy” – completely stretching the capacity of the music video medium in the process. Williams channels the feeling of playing your favorite song walking down the sidewalk by recording a 24-hour sample of his life, looping the track in the background. Through menial tasks like going to the store or navigating a crowd, Skateboard P keeps thing interesting with cameos from Magic Johnson, Steve Carrell and even Odd Future, as well as some charming choreography.
Eminem’s Interview with BBC Radio 1 Zane Lowe (Part I)
Eminem sat down with BBC Radio 1′s Zane Lowe to discuss everything involved in his latest work, The Marshall Mather LP 2. Ghostface Killah’s Gritty RZA-Produced Comic Book: Twelve Reasons to Die
Spin –
Ghostface Killah’s Twelve Reasons to Die isn’t just a promising new album powered by the searing soul production of Adrian Younge. It’s also a comic book about “one vengeful soul hunting the 12 most powerful crime lords in the world,” and the list of guest artists is fiercely impressive: Jim Mahfood (Tank Girl), Paolo Rivera (Daredevil), Ramon Perez (Wolverine & The X-Men), Riley Rossmo (Bedlam), Tim Seeley (Hack/Slash), and Kyle Strahm (Haunt), among others, plus 30 Days of Night‘s Christopher Mitten on the cover of Issue 1.
That debut entry in the six-part series hits stands May 29 courtesy of Black Mask Studios, a new publisher co-founded by Epitaph boss and Bad Religion O.G. Brett Gurewitz. The RZA is credited as the book’s producer, and his own Soul Temple Records will release the album on April 16. We’ve heard the excellent tracks “The Rise of the Ghostface Killah” and “The Sure Shot (Parts 1 and 2).” Now we have an opportunity to preview the comic via the trailer above, which promises, “Guns, sex, vinyl [and] revenge,” against a backdrop of grit.

Kanye West. Zane Lowe Interview BBC Radio 1
Part four coming in the next few days.
Kanye West interview with Zane Lowe from BBC Radio 1.
After the mixed reviews of Kanye’s latest album. This is a great interview to get more insight into his thinking behind the album and previous albums and even though I’m not the biggest fan of the album Yeezus. It’s given me much more appreciation for it and you have to admire his passion and confidence for everything he does.
