Liberatum Hong Kong International Festival of Culture 2012
I’m so excited for Liberatum Hong Kong not only because HK will have the pleasure of international cultural icons, creative leaders and artists including Pharrell Williams, Khalil Fong, Thomas Heatherwick, Philip Treacy, Marianne Faithfull, Daniel Wu, William Orbit, Paul Schrader, Terence Koh, Mike Figgis. But because my fellow ELEQT ambassador Diana is achieving what many only talk about in HK. She’s on a mission to put HK on the map and I couldn’t be more supportive of her. The festival will bring art, design, fashion, literature, film and music all together for 3 days. The Liberatum Hong Kong International Festival of Culture will run between April 27-April 29 2012. Can’t wait!

I couldn’t decide whether to make this a ‘Snap!’ photo or a category of its own because I love this shot for her style, she’s got a cute face and the photo is cool!

Astrophysicist Dr. Neil DeGrasse Tyson was asked by a reader of TIME magazine, “What is the most astounding fact you can share with us about the Universe?” This is his answer.
KONY 2012 (PLEASE WATCH THIS)
KONY 2012 from INVISIBLE CHILDREN on Vimeo.
I received a late night Facebook message last night from a mate (Georgie Gee) back in Australia telling me if I hadn’t seen this video. I should watch it and see if it moves me as much as what it did him. I loaded up the video and can honestly say it had such an impact on me that I will be doing everything I can to support this cause. Please watch the video and help raise awareness of the inhumane acts going on in Africa.
KONY 2012 is a film and campaign by Invisible Children that aims to make Joseph Kony famous, not to celebrate him, but to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent for international justice.

BANKSY ON ADVERTISING
So true!
People are taking the piss out of you everyday. They butt into your life, take a cheap shot at you and then disappear. They leer at you from tall buildings and make you feel small. They make flippant comments from buses that imply you’re not sexy enough and that all the fun is happening somewhere else. They are on TV making your girlfriend feel inadequate. They have access to the most sophisticated technology the world has ever seen and they bully you with it. They are The Advertisers and they are laughing at you.
You, however, are forbidden to touch them. Trademarks, intellectual property rights and copyright law mean advertisers can say what they like wherever they like with total impunity.
Fuck that. Any advert in a public space that gives you no choice whether you see it or not is yours. It’s yours to take, re-arrange and re-use. You can do whatever you like with it. Asking for permission is like asking to keep a rock someone just threw at your head.
You owe the companies nothing. Less than nothing, you especially don’t owe them any courtesy. They owe you. They have re-arranged the world to put themselves in front of you. They never asked for your permission, don’t even start asking for theirs.

HK War Games REMATCH
Just finished designing the poster for our next HK WAR GAMES session. After the positive feedback from the last game I organised the boys are itching to get back on the battlefield and word has spread so I’m expecting a big turn out for the next come. Hoorah!!!
HK War Games: Death Adder United Forces
Last weekend I organised for 16 of the boys from HK to do a day session of War Games in Sai Kung. For those who don’t know what War Games is – it’s like skirmish but you use high powered BB-Guns. That includes pistols, machine-guns, sniper rifles. Pretty much any real gun they use in the army you can get the replica in BB (airsoft) form. The majority of guys had never done it before so they were blown away by how real it feels being out on the different maps some more jungle style and other close quarters urban layouts. And let me tell you when you cop one of the BB pellets to the body. It bloody hurts! There were some serious war wounds by the end of the 5 hour session and a few games got personal between mates. But all in good fun. After the positive feedback from the day I’m currently organising another day out in a few weeks time. Here’s a group photo we took of the group that I retouched to look more like an old war photo.

Happy Birthday Takashi Murakami!!
I’ve been a long time fan of your work and the message behind your artwork for a long time. So I look forward to many more years of your work and collaborations to come.
Have a great day.

Blogging keeps me sane
There’s nothing I like better, than to finish the day posting new content to my blog. It gives me time to reflect on work I’ve done for the day and helps me channel my thoughts for concepts I’m currently working on. I found this old photo from last summer and thought I’d put it to good use and create another image link to my blog for Facebook.
