HARLEY XL1200R SPORTSTER BY SHAW SPEED & CUSTOM

Shaw Speed & Custom is a name that we are becoming much more familiar on the custom motorcycle scene as the UK based shop continues to earn more awards with each passing year.  Today they prove that a beautiful bike can be built on a modest budget with the Harley XL1200R Sportster by Shaw Speed & Custom.

Typically the bikes we feature can really break the bank, so we thought we’d focus on a bike that was modified on a budget of $13,500. Using a 2006 Harley-Davidson 2006 XL1200R as the base, the customizers altered a few minor things that made a world of difference including a custom fabricated rear fender, lower ride height, sprung solo seat, custom bars, and a lowered speedometer among other things. To finish off the look, the bike received a beautiful blue paint job that was contrasted nicely with the black powder coated stock rims.

J. L. Lawson & Co. : The Cell 6061-T6 Machined Survival Kit

The Campaign:

A year ago we came up with the idea to machine a water resistant container to be used for a basic survival essentials kit.  After manually machining one we found that it would be way to costly to do so we shelved the idea.  We dusted off the idea recently and decided to get some CNC quotes to have The Cell manufactured instead of manually machined by us.  We love this piece and think that you will too but we don’t have the capital to meet the minimums required for CNC production.

The achievement:

Our main objective is to get this piece in your hands at a reasonable price.  Whatever disaster or apocalyptic scenario (we lean towards zombie apocalypse obviously) you might believe in, everyone should be prepared. The Cell is the perfect way to get started and looks pretty amazing at the same time.  Help us help you.

The Rise of the Second Screen

Where will the reach of the Internet invade next? Those of us who love our television programs are increasingly watching them with our mobile devices in hand. We use them to find information related to things we’ve seen, and connect on our favorite social networks, like Facebook and Twitter. More and more shows are realizing that they’re losing people during the advertisements, when people are most likely to search the web, or interact on their mobile; which is changing the way we watch television.

G-Shock has released the new GLS-100 winter sport watch. Designed for winter sports, and the extreme elements that come with the territory, the watch makes use of some very rugged components to ensure that it keeps ticking away even as the mercury dips down to -20 degrees Celsius. A low temperature LCD will continue to display the time and date where a normal LCD would freeze. The watchband utilizes Cordura and synthetic leather, ensuring that the watch will always stay strapped on. Available in olive, khaki, matte black and white colorways, the GLS-100 will be available starting this month with a Japan release followed later by a global release. I’ll be picking one of these up before snowboard trip to Canada next year.
