A Redesign of Nike’s London HQ

a-redesign-of-nikes-london-hq-0 nike-uk-headquarters-newly-redesigned-by-rosie-lee-01-570x508

While Nike‘s sprawling Beaverton campus represents a pinnacle of sorts for the contemporary and modern workplace, the sportswear giant’s London digs look to be on par with that of the American HQ thanks to a recently completed redesign at the hands of London-based hybrid creative agency Rosie Lee. Tasked with updating Nike’s London headquarters, Rosie Lee drew inspiration from the brand’s timeless designs for the facelift. The result is a bevy of individual product-inspired spaces across the HQ’s three floors as everything from Spike Lee’s Mars Blackmon to the FuelBand and iconic footwear silhouettes are referenced throughout the colorful, collaborative environment.

I Am Street Fighter: 25th Anniversary Documentary

street-fighter street-fighter-2-1024x576 streetfighter2_031850055898_640x360 sf25ac

TECH2 Article –

It’s been 25 years since the fighting game genre was more-or-less codified by Street Figther, and to commemorate the occasion, Capcom teamed up with gaming video group Area 5 to make a documentary. It’s titled I Am Street Fighter – 25th Anniversary Documentary.

The documentary is essentially a love letter to all things Street Fighter. It goes in-depth into the history of the franchise and even has fans of the games, such as Clarence Lim, collector and cosplayer, talk about their childhood experiences with Street Fighter 2. The documentary covers fans and developers from all sides of Street Fighter, including art designers who were responsible for Street Fighter 2 HD Remix as well as the original sound director for Street Fighter 2.

Over the years, there have been quite a large number of mainline Street Fighter games. The number goes even higher when you start counting the Vs and X games, such as SNK vs Capcom, Marvel vs Capcom or Street Fighter X Tekken.

EL CAMINO — FOODTRUCK from Savvy Studio on Vimeo.

Words from Savvy-Studio –

El Camino Foodtruck is our answer to Monterrey’s gastronomic needs. Its menu caters for all tastes, ranging from vegetarian options to delicious Texas-style hamburgers and sandwiches. The spanish/english combination in its name is a play with words which aims to communicate these flavours.

For this project we developed and exhaustive graphic language which is constantly growing. The aim is to make the Foodtruck very recognisable through its easily identifiable graphic style. Americana and biker tattoos are two strong influences, expressing the truck’s rough and Texan personality in an appealing way. El Camino Foodtruck is a tribute to an artisanal approach, from the meticulous preparation of the food it serves to the creation and implementation of its visual language that was conceived in pencil and paper and later hand drawn directly on the truck.

Justin Timberlake 2013 MTV VMAs “Video Vanguard” Performance

justin-timberlake-vma-650c 130825-justin-timberlake-vma-2013

The much-rumored *NSYNC reunion did indeed go down last night as Justin Timberlake was honored with an MTV Video Vanguard award – think of it as a lifetime achievement award for music videos – at the 2013 MTV VMAs. Following a montage of Timberlake’s hit videos, the man himself kicked off a performance medley by making his way through Brooklyn’s Barclays Center while performing “Take Back The Night.” JT eventually made his way to the main stage as the hits kept on coming, even joining *NSYNC’s JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Chris Kirkpatrick, and Joey Fatone for “Girlfriend” and “Bye Bye Bye.” More than 15 minutes in length, the entirety of Timberlake’s show-stealing performance can be enjoyed above.

Teahupoo: INSIDE THE MONSTER by Gilles Hucualt and Julien Marckt

Teahupoo INSIDE THE MONSTER by Gilles Hucualt and Julien Marckt

Sure you have seen many videos on the competitions held in this mythical enclave south of Tahiti in French Polynesia: Teahupoo. Its waves XXL and feared reef make it a challenge for the biggest names in surfing.

When confluent certain conditions of wind and tide, the waves are so big that the French Navy has to activate the so-called double code red and in such cases, is to arrest anyone entering the water.

The film shows the risk Gilles, the adrenaline, the courage, the cries, the roaring of the sea, the screams of riders and spectators, waves, falls, wounds, bathing suits lost in battle, the excitement … but also gives voice to photographers, cameras, pilots of the boats, event organizers, to approach the problems of a high concentration of people in a scene so dangerous and difficult to control.

GIZMODO Article –

Being creative doesn’t mean having access to the latest and greatest gear. It’s often a matter of thinking outside the box to find the best solution. Casey Neistat’s studio—including his self-built shooting table—is a perfect example of that.

Take a look at almost any of Neistat’s videos, and you’re likely to see that his creations serve a purpose. Customizability, durability, and economy are all at the forefront. In a recent tour of his studio, he showed us exactly how everything fits together.

UTVUnderground Presents: RJ Anderson XP1K

maxresdefault buggie XP1K RJ Anderson Mad Media XP1K RJ Anderson Mad Media XP1K RJ Anderson Mad Media

Professional Driver. One-Of-A-Kind Heavily Modified Vehicle. Do Not Attempt. You Could Die. The new 2014 Polaris RZR XP1000 is the most powerful and advanced UTV to hit the market yet. With the launch of this machine, Polaris has completely reset the performance bar, and there is no better combination of fun and performance, especially for the price. We wanted to build on that platform and show the world how incredible the XP1000 is — so we created XP1K.

UTVUnderground.com and Mad Media tapped our friend, championship UTV and Pro-Lite racer RJ Anderson to pilot our 2014 Polaris RZR XP1K machines, and together we put down a dream list of stunts and tricks that we could stich together into a single, over-the-top video.

We assembled an off-road dream team to build two RZR XP1K UTV’s, so that we could attempt the most fantastic and challenging UTV stunts ever filmed. Our RZR XP1K machines started out as bone stock 2014 Polaris RZR XP1000’s — and were built into race ready vehicles with the help of suspension master Randy Anderson (Walker Evans Racing), UTV racecar builder and racer Mark Holz (HOLZ Racing Products), engine and drivetrain guru Kevin Kroyer, (Kroyer Racing Engines), and Polaris RZR turbo expert Trey Lokey, (MCX-USA Turbos). We also got a ton of support from the technicians at Polaris — who were instrumental in helping us breathe life into these cars.

The location we picked for XP1K is called Eagle Mountain. It’s an abandoned iron mine just East of Palm Springs, California that has been used in several TV commercials and movies. Our video doesn’t feature futuristic killing machines (Terminator), but it was the perfect off-road playground to showcase RJ Anderson’s aggressive driving skills, car control, and the power and durability of the new RZR XP1000.

The goal of this project was simple. We wanted to share our love of UTV’s with the world.
We wanted to put YOU in the drivers seat, and let you feel what it’s like to smash the gas pedal and GO!
