Shark Attacks diver in the Cayman Islands
Caribbean Reef Shark encounter in the CAYMAN ISLANDS. Just east of Frank Sound. We were Lion Fish Culling when the shark came out of no ware. It scared the crap out of me. Filmed on my GoPro 3 camera. We were in about 70′ of water when the shark encounter occurred.
I want to make it clear that I am hunting lion fish to help protect the reef from the destruction that they cause. The shark was acting in his natural environment. I have no ill will toward him and will get back in the water and continue to protect the reef for future generations. I would strongly encourage anyone out there to donate to REEF.org or other organizations to help protect our reefs, Sharks and the beautiful creatures in them.
Honda Unveils Two Japanimation Style Motorcycles
At the 30th Osaka Motorcycle Show, Honda unveiled two new bikes inspired by “futuristic machines seen in the anime and manga television and film styles, known collectively as ‘Japanimation.’” The bikes include the matte black NM4-01 and its white counterpart NM4-02, with the latter incorporating utility boxes at the rear wheels on either side of its design. Both NM4s feature a 745cc twin-cylinder engine, paired with a Dual Clutch Transmission that allows the driver to switch between automatic and manual modes. The Japanese automobile manufacturer aims to reach a wider audience with the bikes, as it “represents a machine capable of crossing traditional two-wheeled lines.”

The Selexyz Dominicanen Bookstore
The Selexyz Dominicanen in the Netherlands is an outrageously cool bookstore that was converted from a church that was originally built in 1294. With the growth of Kindle and the iPad, we won’t be seeing too many bookstores for too much longer, so it’s pretty awesome to have few around the globe that are as gorgeous as a great novel.

Hong Kong in the rain by Christophe Jacrot
Photographer since 2006.
In my opinion, there are two ways of capturing the world for a photographer; on the one hand grasping its horror, and on the other sublimating it. I have chosen the second. More specifically, I like the way rain, snow and “bad weather” awaken a feeling of romantic fiction within me, mainly in the big cities. (climatic excesses are another topic).
I see these elements as a fabulous ground for photography, an under-used visual universe with a strong evocative power, and with a richness of subtle lights. This universe escapes most of us, since we are too occupied getting undercover. Man becomes a ghostly silhouette wandering and obeying the hazards of rain or of snow, into the eternity of the climate …
My approach is deliberately pictorial and emotional.
How Wolves Change Rivers
For more from George Monbiot, visit http://www.monbiot.com/ and for more on “rewilding” visit http://bit.ly/1hKGemK and/or check out George Monbiot’s book Feral: rewilding the land, the sea and human life: http://amzn.to/1fjgirx
NOTE: There are “elk” pictured in this video when the narrator is referring to “deer.” This is because the narrator is British and the British word for “elk” is “red deer” or “deer” for short. The scientific report this is based on refers to elk so we wanted to be accurate with the truth of the story.
“When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe.” – John Muir
When wolves were reintroduced to Yellowstone National Park in the United States after being absent nearly 70 years, the most remarkable “trophic cascade” occurred. What is a trophic cascade and how exactly do wolves change rivers? George Monbiot explains in this movie remix.

The History of the Nike Air Max
The release of the original Nike Air Max made the invisible visible, runners were hooked and the world was intrigued. What began as an experiment in cushioning by engineer Frank Rudy evolved into something more thanks to Mark Parker and designer Tinker Hatfield. The introduction and development of visible Air altered the future of footwear. “Tinker’s background in structural design allowed him to architect a new dynasty in sportswear,” says Nike. “Postmodern Parisian towers, with transparent walkways and bold pops of color, would prove instrumental to the final Air Max design.”
Honoring 27 years of greatness, Nike has declared March 26 to be Air Max Day. To celebrate the special occasion, the sportswear giant will be releasing the Nike Air Max 1 “Air Max Day” edition. For more on the history of the Air Max be sure to visit the brand’s official website.
