I Love Ugly Chalk Series
Originally I Love Ugly was an Art Collective with strong roots in Illustration and Street Art. It was those Art pieces and illustrations that lead to screen printed T-shirts which continued to expand to other mediums and finally to the I love ugly you know today.
Art is something that will always have a major influence on I Love Ugly so we will continue to strengthen that message in all aspects of I Love Ugly.
The Series is based around a Chalk Mural that was drawn in the original I Love Ugly studio roughly 2 years ago and re-created by our Creative Director on a much larger scale in the new creative studios.
This Mural was then interpreted as the motif print for this capsule collection, featuring on Shirts, Jacket, watches and Pants and even being released as a Fine art Print.
Aspire to inspire before you expire.

Nike SB 2014 Spring/Summer Renewal Collection
Nike SB has unveiled its “Renewal” collection for Spring/Summer 2014. Wanting to offer its team riders shoes that would let their feet recuperate, Nike SB has reworked Stefan Janoski, Eric Koston and Paul Rodriguez‘s signature shoes with two of Nike’s most important technologies: Air and Free. All three silhouettes now boast Free and Air-cushioned soles for additional comfort when not skating. Both Koston and P-Rod’s models now feature Hyperfuse uppers along with Free tech in the forefoot and Air in the heel. Janoski’s model goes for a mesh upper with a woven tongue sitting atop a speckled Free and Air sole. All three models stick to a color palette of black and green. Look for all three at Nike starting February 26.
The Inspiration Pad
By way of the NSFW American Apparel Tumblr, I found myself reading an article on My Modern Met staring at notebooks whose lines had apparently gotten drunk and started zig zagging off of the page. It was like a classic Composition Notebook had decided that it all of a sudden hated its job and set out to do its own thing, relinquishing order for a welcome bit of chaos.
The item in question is The Inspiration Pad and it is what was explained: it’s a notebook that is all sorts of kooky and decidedly all over the place. It’s kind of like a joke book without any jokes being told. It is a notebook that makes it’s users rethink how it is to be used: it forces you to get creative.
The pad is made by TM, a design and advertising studio started by Marc Thomasset. The goal of the firm is to “define, differentiate and drive action in a fresh and innovative way.” The product has been out for about a year now and obviously rocketed to being an item associated with creative freedom for the Internet generation, for a group who don’t actually need to physically write but instead could use piece of paper as a foil for drawing or sketching or doodling. In that regard, the product is almost a joke, using “inspiration” as a trendy subject to get people to buy it because as a DIY means of finding yourself. On the other hand, it just looks cool.
That’s just it: the notebook does fucking look awesome. The bending lines and maze work created warps the mind and the different variations on the theme make you want to get the notebook to see just how many ways Thomasset could think to reform the blue lines. The Pad is currently sold out but, if you are interested, there are some new ideas he has thought up for the next incarnation of that you can check out here.

Nike Robotics by Simeon Georgiev
Following his LEGO Streetwear Figurine project, Bulgarian artist Simeon Georgiev presents a new series of designs exclusively for Highsnobiety. The renderings are based on the desires of futuristic, intelligent humanoid robots. Undoubtedly, either the robots themselves or their owners will want then to look stylish, and as such, Georgiev took Nike‘s Air Max 1 and Roshe Run silhouettes and adapted them for the future. The sneakers expand on the sporting giant’s iconic designs – maintaining each pair’s distinct lines and elements – and update them with a blocky, rigid feel. The theme is continued throughout with clean, simple color panels and lacing systems more advanced than Marty McFly’s Power Laces. The effect is seamless integration from the sole of the sneaker to the joints and legs of the robot, resulting in a flawless interpretation of two timeless silhouettes.

Red Bull Storm Chase Final 2014: Windsurfing through hurricane conditions
Frenchman Thomas Traversa was crowned the champion of the storm surfing universe. Despite weighing just 60 kilos, Traversa won the final leg of the Red Bull Storm Chase in hurricane conditions off the coast of Cornwall, UK, in front of Marcilio Browne from Brazil and Leon Jamaer from Germany.
With building-high waves and gusts of wind reaching 70 knots, only the best were nominated to participate in the “Red Bull Storm Chase”. During an 18-month holding-period, ten of the world’s best windsurfers waited patiently to catch three of the biggest storms on oceans around the globe to determine who was the very best. After Mission 1 in Ireland (January 2013) and a second mission in Tasmania, Australia (August 2013), Red Bull Storm Chase picked the storm-ravaged coast of Cornwall, U.K., for the third and final location for a showdown between the remaining four.
